The Labrador Retriever is a strong and sturdy dog. It has a short, dense, weather resistant coat, a clean-cut head, powerful jaws, and kind, friendly eyes, expressing character, intelligence and good temperament. Although developed in Britain, it originated from dogs found along the East coast of Canada where these dogs had been known variously as the Black Water Dog, the Lesser Newfoundland, or the St John's Dog. Crossed with other local sporting breeds, the Lab became, and continues to be, England's most popular gundog. This breed excels in obedience and field trials, needs plenty of outdoor exercise and especially enjoys swimming.

The Portuguese Water dog is a hardy, muscular, meduim sized dog. Its coat can vary from flat, wavy and shiny to thick with open and tight curls. It is a water loving, lively but sensible and loyal dog. Affectionate and fun to be around. It has a stable, pleasant temperament. Brave, highly intelligent and trainable, it is keen to work and quick to learn. It is excellent with children and ususally gets on with other dogs and pets without any problems.

The Rottweiler has a mastive body, powerful body. It is a calm, trainable, courageous dog, devoted to its owner or family. Protective, serious, steady and confident, it is a strong fighter that seems to be immune to pain. It can be powerful and aggressive but with the right handling it can also be loyal, loving and a rewarding companion. It need plenty of exercise and loves swimming.

The standard schnauzer is a meduim-sized. rugged, robust dog with bushy eyebrows, whiskers, and a beard. It is a fearless, protective dog which makes a good watch/guard dog. It is lively but not restless, high spirited and affectionate. Clever, intelligent, demanding and playful, it needs companionship and is a good dog to travel with.

The Scottish Terrier, sometimes known as a Scottie, are know for their distinctive shape, fierce loyalty and die hard spirit. They are small but resilient. Dispite their small legs they are fast and have muscular bodies. They have shaggy dark grey to black coats. They originate from Scotland. They are natural digger and were originally bred to hunt badges in the Highlands.

The Siberian Husky is a working dog, known for its ability to thrive in arctic cold weather. It has traditionally been used to herd reindeer, pull sleds and keep children warm. It has a thick coat which can vary in colour and markings. It has a gentle temperament, is energetic and enjoys running and exploring. These dogs are however, subborn and can be difficult to train.

The Wire Fox Terrier has a hardy constitution and cocksure personality. It is alert, quick of movement, and usually has a keen expression. A full-sized, well balanced dog should not exceed 15½ inches at the withers.
