Seahorses

There are 32 species of seahorse. They are mainly found in shallow tropical and temperate water all over the world. They prefer to live in sheltered areas such as coral reefs, or sea grass beds. These fish form territories, with males staying in about 1 square meter of their habitat, while females roam about 100 times that area. At social times or when in unfamillar surroundings, seahorses turn bright colours.
