Automated Gates
There are three main automated gate systems, the underground gate operating mechanism, which is buried underground and the over ground gate automation system, which uses a ram movement and the slider.
All our automated gate systems are controlled via a hand held push button remote control (2 provided). The gates can be programmed to close when manually instructed via the remote or close automatically using an adjustable time delay.
Gate Entry is protected by photo cells to prevent the gates from closing accidentally on vehicles parked in the opening. In the event of a power cut the gates can be unlocked manually. Provision can be made on exit, for the gates to open automatically when sensing the presence of a vehicle (at extra cost, not included in kit prices) via a loop detector, otherwise they are operated via the remote.
The entrance gate can also be fitted with a keypad or push button, a 7-day timer with tradesman push button, an audio link to the house allowing two-way communication, and /or video link. It is recommended that an electric lock be fitted on gates over 2.5m. All of these are optional extras to the basic automated gate kits.
You will need a 13amp 240 volt electrical supply to be provided to one gate post and 4 core cable across the drive to the other post. The photocells will also require a small cable to be laid between the two posts.
